HARF COLLEGE, MALERKOTLA has been established by HARF Charitable Trust (Regd.), Malerkotla. The first educational venture of the Trust was Sohrab Public School; a prestigious English Medium Senior Secondary School established in 2002 and affiliated to Central Board of Secondary
Education.
Then keeping in view, the ever increasing and pressing needs and demands of the students and parents of the area, the Trust established HARF COLLEGE in 2012-13 which was affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala for B.Com. B.Com. (Professional) and B.C.A. It was a grand success as the students of the college excelled in the university exams by securing top positions in the very first year of its establishment. Besides, the achievements in Sports and Cultural Activities were also marvelous. The moto of the college “Education for Excellence” was transformed into reality by the untiring efforts of the faculty, students and parents. The fully disciplined academic environment of this co-educational institution has gone a long way to satisfy the growing aspirations of all the stakeholders. In the year, 2013-14, the classes for B.A. were also introduced in which the students have subjects such as Mathematics, Political Science, Economics, History, Psychology, Physical Education, English Literature, Punjabi Literature, Hindi Literature, Urdu Literature as elective subjects besides English and Punjabi as compulsory subjects. In just a small span of two-three years, the college has grew to the Post-Graduate level and classes for M.Com Were Started From the academic session 2015-16. Recently IGNOU has established a study centre in this college.
